florida wildlife

There are abundant opportunities to observes some of the unique Florida wildlife.  Here are some pictures I've taken to give you and idea of what you could see.

Alligators are in just about every body of water in Florida.  This fellow was photographed while on an airboat ride with Boggy Creek Airboat rides on lake Tohopekaliga.  If you're coming during the warm weather you will almost certainly see alligators.  These creatures love to sun themselves on hot days.

This raptor eating a fish on a pole was also photographed by lake Tohopekaliga.

These photos were taken along Florida's Space Coast near the Kennedy space center and Cocoa Beach.  If you are an avid birder the Space Coast is a great place to see many different local and migratory birds.

If you're a camera buff be sure to bring your telephoto lense when you visit Sea World.

During the winter months many of Florida's Manatees make their way to the waters of Blue Springs State Park a bit north of Orlando.

Disney's Animal Kingdom is a great place to bring your telephoto lens and practice for the African Safari.  The trick is to be patient and let the crowds move quickly by as you claim a good spot to just sit and wait for the animals.  There are ample photographic opportunities at the Animal Kingdom for the serious photographer.
